Several things I like about this. The battery life is descent, awesome display, fast CPU, several modes (laptop, tablet, tent mode), weight is good is still good for the size screen, 1 USB 3.0 & 1 USB 2.0. 2nd SATA port for additional hard drive.
I love the keyboard as it is really quite while typing and the feel is good. The touchpad is one of the best I've used on a laptop. I still use an external mouse when I can, but the touch pad can't be beat by any other laptop I've tried. Over all very comfortable compared to any other laptop I've used.
The battery life is descent if you are willing to sacrifice some performance, pretty typical these days. The lenova software makes it easy to switch modes between performance and battery saving. The software also lets you optimize the battery life by charging it to only 60% and not to 100% all the time.
Some issues I have is with the WiFI. The best connection I can get is around 120MB's. The NIC it comes with seems to be an older card with pretty limited advanced options for anyone that knows what they are doing. I may see if I can replace the card, hopefully this is an option.
I had to do several updates with Windows 8 before I could upgrade to 8.1, then several more updates. I probably spent a good 4 hours running updates, Not sure why they can't send these out with the latest OS and updates/drivers already installed. Install Office and run even more updates.
It doesn't work with my current stylus pens that work with my galaxy tablets and I-Pads/I-Phones. They work just not real well. Better off using your fingers, and fingers aren't as accurate. Not to mention finger smudges on the screen.
Still one issue I need to resolve and when switching to tablet mode it does seem to run slower. Even when plugged into AC and with power mode set to performance. I'm sure it'll be an easy issue to resolve so I'll work on that when I have time, but I've been busy getting everything else setup the way I want.
Overall I'm happy with it. They could do a few things to make it easier for the average consumer to get up and running. Once I'm sure this one is running solid I'll order one for the wife.
I've had my Yoga for almost two months. It is by far the best notebook/laptop I have ever owned. I especially enjoy the keyboard. I find myself picking up my Yoga rather than setting in front of my desktop when I need to prepare a long document. The performance is excellent and the form factor is really comfortable. My only complaint is that the battery life has been much less than what I anticipated. I can't tell that it is any better than my ASUS standard notebook that I have used for the past two years. I find it hard to believe the other reviews I have read that talk of six or even eight hours of usage, even with light duty. My main use is in surfing or in typing text documents, and seldom do anything with large or graphic files, but it is the exception for me to get more than three hours without having to plug-in. One of my first purchases after settling-in with the Yoga was an extra changer to make sure I had one in my carrying case as well as near my work desk. Other than that I couldn't be happier and highly recommend it for anyone --- unless battery life is a major concern.
Update 9/10/2013 Changing to 3 stars from 4. The short battery-life has gotten steadily worse with use. But that's not why I am making this addtion. Instead, I noticed over the weekend that one of the function keys had been displaced and I could not find it. The Lenovo service lines was closed until Monday morning. Once I got an answer on Monday it took over half an hour of winding through a maize of phone numbers and recordings before I finally was able to speak to someone who could help. They advised that I could not just replace the key, but had to send the entire computer back to be serviced and have the keyboard replaced. They sent me a RMA that required that I repackage the unit and then take it to a Federal Express office 50 miles away to have it shipped. For some reason their authorization would not allow that I drop it off at a local franchise or pickup. I am told it will be seven to ten business days before I can expect to get it back. This experience has me questioning if I would ever go with a Lenovo product in the future.
